Those are the real questions

And they're the ones I've been answering for seventeen years.

My couples consistently say their sessions felt more like hanging out with a friend who happened to have a camera. That's not an accident. It's the result of seventeen years of learning how to make real people feel like themselves in front of a lens. And when you get your gallery back, it’s not just the obvious moments, it’s all of them. From the big moments (think swooping backdrop first kiss), to the small ones (think the look your mom gave you while you say “I do”). Because after all, a wedding day is a full story. And you deserve every single chapter of it.

By the time your wedding day arrives, I already know your timeline so thoroughly that I don't need to ask you a single question. I've thought through every scenario, flagged every potential timing issue, and made a plan so that on your wedding day, the photography is simply not something you ever have to think about.

Will I like having them around all day?

Will I feel awkward & stiff in the portraits?

Will they understand what matters to us?

will they just know what they need to do?

If someone asks me what I do at a party, I say: I photograph people on the best days of their lives, and I make sure they actually feel that way the whole time I am there.

I'm in!

What's next?

Step One:

Your Inquiry

You find the contact form, you fill it out. I keep it minimal on purpose, so you don't have to write a biography just to say hello, and then I do a little happy dance at my desk when I read it. You'll hear from me within 48 hours with my availability, information about my approach and packages, and what the next steps look like.

Step Two:

Let's Actually Meet!

We hop on a video call and you tell me everything. Your vision, your priorities, your concerns, your excitement. Photography tends to be booked earlier in planning than a lot of other vendors, so I don't expect you to have everything figured out yet. I'll ask about what matters most, suggest a sample timeline, and share package options that actually fit your vision.

Step Three:

Making It Official

Once you've made your decision, I'll send over a contract for review and an invoice for your retainer. A signed contract and retainer are all you need to officially get your date on my calendar! If your package includes an engagement session, we'll get that scheduled as soon as you're ready.

Step Four:

your wedding day

You have a beautiful, memorable, wildly fun wedding day. I capture so many photos that when guests ask 'how many do you think she took today?' the answer makes them dizzy. We laugh during portraits. We play. I've got your back on every logistical front, every last-minute adjustment, every moment that needs to be quietly handled so you never have to handle it yourself.

Step Five:

Your Photos

Within a week of your wedding day, you'll receive a selection of sneak peek photos to share with friends and family however you'd like. I'll continue hand-editing your full gallery individually. Your complete gallery will be delivered within eight weeks of your wedding.

Step Six:

optional, but encouraged!

Six months from now, or two years from now, or ten years from now, when you and your partner are ready for new photos for any reason, you send me an email and get back on my calendar. My clients receive returning client discounts for life. I get the joy of continuing to photograph some of my favorite couples. Everybody wins.

How would you describe your photography style? +

I always say my photography style is vibrant and timeless, featuring a mixture of documentary photography and editorial-inspired portraits. I want to tell the full story of your wedding day, and this mixture of photography styles combined with my editing style ensures we capture all the moments, details, candids, and joy in their true-to-life color.

What if we feel nervous to be in front of a camera? +

Nearly every couple I chat with shares this concern with me. And you’re in good company - because I identify as an introvert and feel awkward in front of a camera myself! I have tricks for breaking the ice and will make sure our time together accomplishes your photo shot list while laughing lots and taking plenty of deep, peaceful breaths. I promise to make you comfortable so that you look like the rockstars you are in front of a camera and I will continue to guide and help throughout your entire wedding day, as well as leading up to it, to ensure that I capture the most beautiful images from your wedding day. We’re in this together!

How do we book you? +

I LOVE hearing this question! Step one is we hop on a video chat or phone call to discuss your vision and priorities, ensuring that I’m a good fit for your photography goals. Once you’ve made your decision to get things on the books I will prepare a contract for you to review and collect a $1000 retainer. The remainder of your balance is due two weeks ahead of the wedding.

Will you offer us suggestions for posing or locations? +

Always! Every couple is different in regards to comfort level in front of the camera, but being nervous is the norm. I love to incorporate an editorial flair into portrait photography (think a little bit traditional and a little bit classic) without forgetting about a healthy mix of candids as well. I have a couple tried-and-true simple poses I like to start with and then we run with it from there. If I see you do something that’s ultra cute, I’ll encourage you to stay just like that. I’ll keep an eye out for anything that needs little tweaks to photograph in the best way possible (think arm position, slightly bent knees instead of locked tight) and I’ll focus on making sure that you feel like yourself in your portraits.

What areas do you work in? +

I live just north of Seattle in Edmonds, Washington and serve the entire Pacific Northwest. I accept a very limited number of travel or destination weddings but would love to hear from you even if your wedding is taking place elsewhere.

Family Portrait Sessions

Up to 90 minutes, 75+ edited images. $745
Mini sessions are offered seasonally. Email me for dates and locations or to be on the wait list for future mini session dates. $345

portrait & lifestyle sessions

These sessions are a fun mix of posed and group shots first and lots of candids. I prefer to photograph families in locations that are familiar to you or meaningful in some way, encourage you to bring things for kids to enjoy (like bubbles or a kite), and meet each family member where they’re at with comfort level in front of a camera. My approach allows families to focus on the happiness and love they share for each other - no bribes or pleas for “just five more minutes” necessary.

In-home Family Portraits & Newborn Photography

Up to two hours, 90+ edited images. $825

My favorite type of portrait session to do! In the comfort of your cozy home, perfect for when you bring home a new family member or want to stay dry indoors to capture a day-in-the-life vibe. Our time together is focused heavily on cuddling, documentary photography, with a few “smile at the camera” shots sprinkled in throughout.
