Since I started shooting weddings in 2009, I've been lucky enough to be included in the wedding plans for many friends and family members. I know plenty of other photographers who would rather be a guest at a friend's wedding but I savor every opportunity to work with friends and family that I know so well for such a special occasion. Brandon and I met several years ago back when I was still working retail. I remember when he showed up at work and mentioned that he had started dating a girl named Tracy and he seemed so smitten. I eventually left that position and then found out shortly after that Brandon was also leaving, and moving to Boston with his sweetie. Fast forward a couple years, and I was asked to photograph the wedding, I finally got to meet Tracy and she gave me a hug so warm I felt I'd already known her just as long as I've known Brandon. Seriously, this job is incredible.
Brandon & Tracy's wedding was a beautiful mixture of romance and whimsy. The walls of Cottonwood Canyon served as the ceremony backdrop, while bright and bold colors filled in some of the additional details of the day. Brandon's homemade cookies were favors for guests, and Tracy's dear friend Nicholas did an amazing job with a custom s'mores cake with matching bite size pastries for dessert. They planted a tree during their ceremony as a symbol of their relationship and how it will grow overtime. The couple focused on making their wedding welcoming to their whole family, casual, fun, and stress free; and their efforts were a huge success.
Take a peek at some of their photos, especially if you're planning your own summertime wedding. The bright pinks and oranges are adorable, and the matching apparel for the bride's attendants was a spot on choice. Brandon & Tracy, thank you so much for including me in such an important and special day. I had an amazing time celebrating with you!

While B&T did a lot of their own planning and DIY decor, there were plenty of important vendors that contributed to such a beautiful day.

This wedding was the best excuse I could have ever asked for to make my first trip to Montana. I'm in love with the mountains and the beauty of that part of our country and can't wait to return to capture more wedding memories.
