Chihuly Garden and Glass and Seattle Center Maternity Portraits

Drag me!

This was truly one of the cutest maternity sessions of all time! Dhrishya found me on Instagram and when she first inquired, telling me that she was thinking of doing a photo session at the Chihuly Garden and Glass in Seattle I was ready for it! To our collective surprise, the museum is (as of this writing) accepting of professional photographers working within the museum space. It takes a little strategy to be able to work best with the crowds of museum-goers to get shots where the space feels fairly empty, but this couple took every bit of advice I offered and we had a wonderful time. Despite rain that started falling mid-way through our time together they remained just as goofy and sweet as they were at the start and I could not get enough of them! I loved all of the personality that came through in these photos without needing any sort of prompts from me. Just a couple months after we snapped these photos Dhrishya welcomed a beautiful and happy baby girl into the world and I am so happy for both new parents, and their adorable new bundle!

Thank you to the Chihuly Garden and Glass at Seattle Center for welcoming us for this special maternity session! The space is truly one of a kind.

ready to tell your story?

Hi, I’m alex! A seattle wedding photographer who’s been documenting your stories since 2009.

I fell in love with photography almost 20 years ago in a darkroom class, and that love has never faded. What started as a darkroom class in college turned into photographing my first wedding solo in 2010,and I was hooked. The joy. The emotion. The vows. The details. The people.

I realized quickly that my fulfillment came from helping people see themselves in a beautiful, honest way. I move calmly. I guide confidently. I know how to capture all the angles and candid moments without you even noticing. My couples often say I have “photo superpowers” because of how much I capture while still keeping everything feeling easy and low-pressure.

Some photographers find wedding days chaotic.

I find them electric.
