Downtown Seattle and Kerry Park Couples Anniversary Photography

Drag me!

I wish I had had more time to get to run around Seattle with Dai & Frank!  They came to visit from their home in Chicago to enjoy a combo family vacation and laid back honeymoon.  Dai’s parents shadowed us the entire time we explored Seattle and despite my many MANY attempts to get them in a photo, they never agreed.  They just wanted the fun tour.  It’s such a treat to get to show anyone around Seattle.  Our city is crazy gorgeous and Dai & Frank gave me the reigns for our session together to pick out locations and our timeline.  We all decided that golden hour sounded amazing, and thankfully we have countless of great spots with which to enjoy our Pacific Northwest sunsets.  Since Dai & Frank were visiting Seattle from Chicago and it was their first trip, hitting the hot spots was important.  So Pike Place Market was our first stop, naturally!  The market was closed during our shoot, but that made for clear streets for us to wander around on and we got prime seating in one of my favorite seating areas in the market thanks to the departed crowds.  We visited Pier 62 and 63 on the Seattle Waterfront, which has been one of my favorite versatile locations for years since it is so wide open with such an amazing downtown view.  And lastly, we had to spend time at Kerry Park to enjoy that quintessential Seattle view that everyone sees on postcards.  This evening did not disappoint.  We had beautiful orange and pink colors fill the sky and we were able to keep shooting while absolutely enjoying the sunset and the weather.  I’m so happy that Dai & Frank found me, and hope that they come back to Seattle soon for another visit!

ready to tell your story?

Hi, I’m alex! A seattle wedding photographer who’s been documenting your stories since 2009.

I fell in love with photography almost 20 years ago in a darkroom class, and that love has never faded. What started as a darkroom class in college turned into photographing my first wedding solo in 2010,and I was hooked. The joy. The emotion. The vows. The details. The people.

I realized quickly that my fulfillment came from helping people see themselves in a beautiful, honest way. I move calmly. I guide confidently. I know how to capture all the angles and candid moments without you even noticing. My couples often say I have “photo superpowers” because of how much I capture while still keeping everything feeling easy and low-pressure.

Some photographers find wedding days chaotic.

I find them electric.
