Business Branding Photography with Seattle Florist Smashing Petals

Drag me!

Wedding flowers and bouquets are some of my favorite details from any wedding day.  I have been obsessed with custom wedding flowers for years and have recently started to dive into the tools and tricks needed to produce beautiful arrangements.  I even have my buyers pass to two of our lovely local wholesale markets now and attended a Ponderosa & Thyme floral workshop in Italy this past summer! (as you already know if you follow me on Insta)

Via some really fun weddings three summers ago I met Keita from Smashing Petals.  Her work is lively, creative, and feels a bit wild – nothing that’s too forced or bunched.  I love her approach to florals and since then we’ve collaborated on styled shoots and worked a couple of weddings together.  Her creativity with lesser known blooms, foraged textures and beautiful color gets me every time.  Plus, she’s just the sweetest soul EVER.

A little while back I photographed a branding session for Keita as she created a colorful compote arrangement with lovely orange and peach tulips, perfect for spring!  And I figured posting some of my favorites now was appropriate as we head into the dark Seattle winter. The more color the better, right!? Branding sessions are a great way to get some new headshots while also creating content that’s great for a website & telling the story of your business.  These sessions are a great chance for vendors to get to know one another, build strong relationships, and be creative together.

ready to tell your story?

Hi, I’m alex! A seattle wedding photographer who’s been documenting your stories since 2009.

I fell in love with photography almost 20 years ago in a darkroom class, and that love has never faded. What started as a darkroom class in college turned into photographing my first wedding solo in 2010,and I was hooked. The joy. The emotion. The vows. The details. The people.

I realized quickly that my fulfillment came from helping people see themselves in a beautiful, honest way. I move calmly. I guide confidently. I know how to capture all the angles and candid moments without you even noticing. My couples often say I have “photo superpowers” because of how much I capture while still keeping everything feeling easy and low-pressure.

Some photographers find wedding days chaotic.

I find them electric.
