I’m a sucker for intimate backyard weddings, especially when they take place right in the heart of Seattle. Sarah & Jon found this super adorable home with a private cottage in the backyard, set alongside an outdoor patio – a perfect location for their private ceremony before family and friends. Intimate weddings are so special to me because they are truly focused on the most important aspect of the day – the marriage of the wonderful couple. They don’t get caught up in overly done details and rigid timelines. They are romantic, peaceful, and so memorable to me.
I instantly bonded with Sarah & Jon when we first met. I wanted to produce the kind of experience that felt as in line with their vision as possible. From our first look surrounded by lush trees, to a quick trip to the Ballard Locks for some portraits together, to photos of the sit down dinner that they helped to prepare with their friends.
I shot a lot of film during this intimate wedding in Seattle and I decided to feature my favorite film shots from this wedding day since I am so in love with how those images came to life.
