My heart has a deep love for weddings that celebrate thoughtful DIY projects and details and that also truly unite two families together. Witnessing Sarah & Christian's wedding was such an honor and wonderful experience. Christian's dad was the officiant. The wedding was held in the backyard of the home Sarah grew up in near Port Townsend, Washington. The bride's dress was an Allure Bridals gown, purchased used and them completely rebuilt by the bride's grandmother. The ties were hand made by the bride's grandmother, too. All of the decor was personally pieced together by the bride, including the hand lettering on all the signs. Family friends and business contacts assisted with the flowers, catering, and styling. This wedding was truly a DIY affair, but of the highest caliber I have seen.
Christian's Polynesian heritage was spun into this wedding everywhere. Christian had a traditional lei for the ceremony and Sarah wore a floral crown using the same foliage, a roasted pig was served for dinner, Christian's shoes even have a Polynesian flair to them, and the reception for this couple featured a spectacular Samoan dance group that entertained every guest.
Most breathtaking, however, was the perfect setting for Sarah & Christian's wedding. We held their first look on a beach that Sarah spent many summer days on as a young girl, and the wedding and reception in the backyard had a gorgeous view of the Olympic Mountain foothills to look over all evening. We were treated to a perfect golden hour and beautiful light at sunset which only helped to cap off the beauty throughout every aspect of this wedding day.
An incredible vendor team supported Sarah & Christian's wedding along with family and friends that assisted tirelessly.
