Waterfront Dock Wedding at Salty’s on Alki

Drag me!

A waterfront wedding in Seattle is always a good idea 365 days a year. Laura & Dalton’s classic and sweet wedding at Salty’s on Alki was one for the books. We had crisp late-summer weather mixed with a couple sprinkles for good luck, a wedding party that went above and beyond for ensuring the couple had an amazing day, and a ceremony processional complete with bubble kiddo in place of a flower gal. Laughs galore, toasts that made it clear just how much this duo is loved by everyone, and so much intention behind the planning of their entire day. I love weddings like this – that focus on intention and deep meaning behind every decision.

Laura & Dalton’s family comes from various parts of the US, which made Salty’s a perfect choice for their venue because of it’s spectacular view of downtown Seattle. It made for the most perfect backdrop to the ceremony, reception, family photos, and more! Salty’s is one of my personal favorite venues – the location is the star but they have great staff and their food is phenomenal.

Laura chose Offwhite Makeup and Beauty for her hair and makeup team, my #1 choice for beauty team in Seattle. Offwhite’s stylists are always on point with their beautiful work, and huge bonus is that they are always so efficient with their time. From this vendor’s perspective it makes things so much more smooth to know hair and makeup is going to be right on schedule when I see Offwhite Makeup and Beauty is part of the vendor team.

I hope you’ll enjoy looking through some of my favorite photos from Laura & Dalton’s wedding day. Their portraits took us through the Fairmont Olympic, where their wedding party was staying and getting ready, to Occidental Park in Seattle – the couple’s #1 location choice for wedding party portraits, and then finally to the shoreline next to Salty’s. Thanks so much to L&D for including me in your incredible wedding day!

Laura & Dalton were the sweetest couple to work with and surrounded themselves with family and guests that were equally kind and wonderful to meet. I would happily repeat this day over and over if I could.

Thank you so much to this rad vendor squad for being part of such a beautiful day:

ready to tell your story?

Hi, I’m alex! A seattle wedding photographer who’s been documenting your stories since 2009.

I fell in love with photography almost 20 years ago in a darkroom class, and that love has never faded. What started as a darkroom class in college turned into photographing my first wedding solo in 2010,and I was hooked. The joy. The emotion. The vows. The details. The people.

I realized quickly that my fulfillment came from helping people see themselves in a beautiful, honest way. I move calmly. I guide confidently. I know how to capture all the angles and candid moments without you even noticing. My couples often say I have “photo superpowers” because of how much I capture while still keeping everything feeling easy and low-pressure.

Some photographers find wedding days chaotic.

I find them electric.
