A wedding can’t be much more quintessential Capitol Hill than Katie & Tony’s fun celebration at the Rainier Chapter House and Volunteer Park!
We started with a first look and wedding party portraits at Volunteer Park, a popular Seattle spot, continued to St Joseph Parish just a few blocks away for the ceremony, and then gathered at Rainier Chapter House nearby for the reception. Katie & Tony love their Capitol Hill home that’s just a couple blocks from their reception site and they wanted to plan a wedding that showed their visiting friends and family their favorite corners of Seattle. It made perfect sense to hold a reception right in their neighborhood.
Katie’s use of bright and light color with her flowers and bridesmaid dresses made for a refreshing color palette – I always love working with brides who go for something more saturated and lively! Their church ceremony was incredible. Churches present a lot of challenges and St Joseph’s has lighting adjustments and staff in place to ensure that it’s a great experience for all and it was such a pleasure working there.

The Rainier Chapter House made for a perfect reception venue knowing how special the neighborhood is to the couple, and the light and bright dining room really complimented this couple’s fun and light hearted personalities perfectly. Their florist decorated the fireplace in the receiving room with gorgeous blooms that matched the rest of the colors and styling of the day and their reception featured a line dance lesson taught by one of the groomsmen!
This couple is adventurous and fun loving and I am so delighted that they chose me to be their wedding photographer. We laughed so much, I found Katie & Tony to be so kind, and their ceremony and reception were full of adorable moments that I will definitely not forget.
